
In a tragic turn of events, a man in his 40s was killed in what authorities believe to be a construction accident at an industrial recycling facility on Codman Hill Road in Boxborough, Massachusetts on Monday, MassLive reports. The Boxborough Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call around 2:05 p.m. regarding the accident, which took place on this Monday, August 28th, and was attended by police, Boxborough firefighters, and Pro EMS Advanced Life Support.
According to The Boston Globe, the worker sustained significant injuries from a "heavy piece of machinery" operating on the property. Despite being airlifted to a nearby trauma center, the worker ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
An ongoing investigation into this deadly accident is currently being conducted by Boxborough police detectives, who are receiving assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene and Detectives Divisions, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety, as reported by NBC Boston.
