The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Hayward Area office was alerted today to a possible freeway shooting on southbound Interstate 880 (I-880) north of Davis Street in the city of San Leandro.
The CHP officer assigned to the case located the victim, thankfully unharmed, with their vehicle having sustained damage after being struck three times by bullets. Golden Gate Investigative Services Unit is working in conjunction with CHP Hayward Area in their efforts to uncover more information about this harrowing incident, as of now, the suspect remains at large.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV, but the suspect themselves has not yet been identified. Local law enforcement is seeking the assistance of the public in piecing together crucial information surrounding this shooting. The CHP Hayward Area office has urged those in possession of any information regarding this incident, to come forward and call them at (510) 489-1500.
The CHP Hayward's tweet makes clear, the priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of the community at large, and they are striving to do so by promptly apprehending the suspect.
