On November 1st, Cambridge will host an information session on a groundbreaking initiative, Pathway for Immigrant Workers (PIW), designed to help local employers sponsor minimum wage immigrant employees for green cards. This free event will take place at the Main Library in Cambridge from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with a presentation followed by a Q&A session according to the Cambridge Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship.
This innovative program, which represents a significant step forward in the ongoing struggle for immigrant rights, will be operated by PIW, a nonprofit organization based in Cambridge that serves the Greater Boston area. Their mission is to help employers, who normally wouldn't have the resources to sponsor an immigrant worker for a green card, navigate the complex legal process as reported by the city.
By providing legal assistance and representation in employment-sponsored lawful permanent residence applications, the PIW program will make a substantial impact on the lives of both immigrant workers and the employers who depend on their invaluable contributions. Employers and employees who may benefit from this program are encouraged to attend the information session to learn more and have their questions addressed.
Registration is not mandatory for the event, but it is encouraged for those who plan to attend. To register, interested parties can visit bit.ly/3vJP66T. Though the legal services provided are free of charge, any further information related to immigration matters can be directed to [email protected].
