
On Monday, a Hercules police officer was conducting a routine check on a vehicle with expired registration in the Home Depot parking lot when they stumbled upon a more dangerous situation. According to the Hercules Police Department's Facebook page, upon contacting the driver, the officer observed drug paraphernalia in plain view, leading to an investigation that would reveal more concerning findings.
When questioned about the drug paraphernalia, the driver handed the officer a small bag of suspected methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of additional methamphetamine and a loaded .25 caliber handgun, concealed under the driver's seat. Following the discoveries, the driver was arrested and booked into jail.
