Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) officers carried out a proactive patrol that led to the recovery of a loaded 9mm handgun.

At approximately 11:04 PM, SRPD officers spotted and made contact with 19-year-old Zachary Henderson, a resident of Santa Rosa, in the 2000 block of Northcoast Street. According to the Santa Rosa Police Department's Facebook post, as officers approached Henderson, they witnessed him attempting to conceal a backpack from their view. Henderson placed the backpack he had been wearing underneath a parked vehicle nearby.

Officers acted promptly and seized the backpack. A search of the backpack unveiled a loaded 9mm handgun, with a round in the chamber. Subsequently, Henderson was arrested for possessing a loaded concealed firearm, and was booked on charges, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
