Earlier this week on August 27th, the hum of an otherwise ordinary Sunday in Brighton was shattered by the news of a theft that robbed the music world of an irreplaceable treasure.
Detectives assigned to District D-14 are now fervently seeking the public's help in tracking down a Viola valued at $70,000, stolen from Glenville Avenue between 2:00 AM and 3:50 PM that fateful day.
On the surface, the instrument appears like any other Viola. Measuring 16.5 inches in length, it was stored inside a black BAM Black Panther HighTech case valued at $1,300, adorned with two Boston University stickers and a Vivant Vintage sticker. However, its true worth lays in the hands of the musician, turning wood and string into the embodiment of an ethereal musical journey.
The Boston Police Department is diligently working to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident, and they are urging anyone with information to contact District D-14 Detectives at (617) 343-4256.
For those who wish to remain anonymous in their aid, they encourage the public to call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or to text the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
