In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver consequently veered across a concrete median and crashed into the shoulder of the road. Miraculously, no injuries were sustained, and after an investigation conducted by the responding officers, it was revealed that the driver was not under the influence of any alcohol or drugs during the incident, as detailed by the San Rafael Police Department's tweet.
Previous safety campaigns and studies have emphasized the correlation between excessive speed and the increased risk of accidents on the road. An analysis of traffic accidents has consistently shown that reducing speed can not only lower the likelihood of crashes but also lessen the severity of the accidents that do occur, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
