The blaze, which has been contained to just under an acre, faced complications as air assets had to disengage for a brief period due to a drone reported in the area, which hindered firefighting efforts, per Patch. CAL FIRE officials took to social media to remind the public of the dangers and illegality of flying drones near fires, emphasizing the importance of keeping the airspace clear for firefighting aircraft, as reported by Police-Fire Aviation and Scanner Feeds on Twitter. The presence of a drone not only puts firefighting aircraft and personnel at risk but also hampers their ability to efficiently fight the fire and protect nearby communities.

Flying drones near fires is not only dangerous and illegal but also potentially detrimental to property and lives as firefighting aircraft are forced to disengage. Conservation and community safety should remain a priority.
