Five students and their bus driver in San Marcos experienced a terror-inducing situation today as their school bus was engulfed in a fire. This alarming event occurred near Mission Road and Las Posas Road, just after 8:00 a.m. The Kids and the driver swiftly evacuated onto a sidewalk. The San Diego Sheriff's Office shared the details via Twitter.

Upon their arrival, deputies from the @SDSOSanMarcos surveyed the scene and knowingly boarded the bus to ensure no one else was trapped inside. The back engine, roaring with a fire, continued to burn while firefighters moved in to quell it.
Exemplifying the critical value of community, a second school bus arrived shortly after to usher the shaken students to Twin Oaks High School. There, they resumed their day without incident, carrying the weight of the morning's events with resilience.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fire, seeking answers as to what ignited this blaze.
