Yesterday, August 30th, a harrowing encounter in Hyde Park ended with the arrest of three juveniles following an attempted armed robbery. According to the Boston Police Department website, officers responded to a distress call near 38 Cleveland Street at 4:04 PM, where the suspects allegedly displayed a knife to rob their victim.
With a description of the three suspects, officers immediately canvassed the area, resulting in the apprehension of the perpetrators at the intersection of Reservation Road and Business Street. Despite an attempt to flee from officers on a bicycle, the three suspects—two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old—were stopped, handcuffed, and charged with delinquency to wit, armed robbery, and, in one juvenile case, assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
This incident, however, may not stand alone. As the police report suggests, they later discovered that a similar crime had already been reported, opening the possibility for additional charges to be levied against the young suspects.
