Early this morning, officers from the Santa Rosa Police Traffic Division were dispatched to the scene of a reported vehicle collision, only to find themselves uncovering more than just a simple accident. The incident led to the discovery of an illegal firearm, ultimately escalating the repercussions the 34-year-old resident now faces.
Tucker White, the driver, exhibited signs of being intoxicated as officers found his black Ford pick-up truck crashed into three parked vehicles on the 2400 block of San Miguel Ave. Officers then conducted a thorough investigation, eventually arresting White on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
A search of the crashed vehicle revealed a loaded, unregistered Smith and Wesson 9mm caliber handgun. The situation quickly led to a number of additional charges for the individual, including possession of a firearm not the registered owner and possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, as listed on the Santa Rosa Police Facebook page.
