Following the initial attack, the second incident unfolded at Ali Baba’s Bong and Clothing Shop, situated at 10220 International Blvd. at 8:37 pm. Authorities report that Lopez shot 25-year-old Pablo Garcia multiple times and fired at another onlooker who attempted to protect Garcia; that person was struck in the leg. Tragically, Garcia succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
In the aftermath, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has been tirelessly working on the case to ensure accountability and justice. District Attorney Pamela Price expressed her condolences to the family of Pablo Garcia and the other victims affected by the senseless violence. “Our office has worked diligently to bring resolution to this case and hold Mr. Lopez accountable for his violent crimes in our community,” Price said in the announcement.
The charges levied against Juan Lopez carry a sentencing exposure of 45 years to life imprisonment, with an additional five years and four months.
