Multiple robberies took place within less than an hour, targeting both businesses and individuals near the West Side of Chicago yesterday. Two liquor stores and a bar were among the targeted locations, with suspects remaining at large.
The first robbery took place at a liquor store around 10:25 p.m., with two male suspects armed with handguns entering the store and stealing the employees' phones and cash, as well as a safe, according to ABC7 Chicago.
Mere minutes later, two similarly armed male suspects entered another liquor store, robbing the establishment and its customers before fleeing on foot. A third robbery followed, targeting a bar where patrons were also robbed, and the cash drawer was taken.
In addition to the violent robberies at businesses, a man and a woman experienced a harrowing armed robbery while walking on the sidewalk, as mentioned in another CBS Chicago article.
No injuries have been reported thus far, and police have yet to determine whether the robberies are connected. Area Three detectives are currently investigating this crime spree that has left the community in fear.
