
On the morning of Friday, September 22, 2023, right around 10:22 AM, the Boston Police Department’s units from District C-11 (Dorchester) and B-3 (Mattapan) apprehended two Dorchester residents, Reginald Mells, 44, and an unidentified 25-year-old male. This occurred during an ongoing drug investigation, which involved executing search warrants in the vicinity of 6 Darlington Street the Boston Police Department reported.
The execution of the search led to the discovery of a range of illegal items, including 15 bags of what officers presume is crack cocaine. The police exhibited several firearms including a Colt Revolver, a Remington .223 Rifle, an 8mm semi-automatic firearm, a multiplicity of ammunition, multiple empty magazines, a ballistic vest, and an automatic Glock outfitted with an extended magazine.
Mells, now under custody, faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession with intent to distribute class B drugs. He is scheduled to appear in the Dorchester District Court for his arraignment.
The 25-year-old male is confronted with a lengthier list of charges. It includes unlawful possession of a machine gun, two firearms and ammunition, possession of two large-capacity feeding devices, three counts of improper firearm storage, possession of body armor, and possession of a rifle sans a serial number.
