In a report from yesterday's incident, the Brookline police department has announced the arrest of two suspects, Manuel Alicea, a 31-year-old from Tewksbury, and Dominic Hardin, a 34-year-old from Lowell, in connection with the violent Brookline home invasion that occurred in July of this year. Both suspects are facing charges of home invasion, conspiracy, and larceny, as well as weapons charges, and await the outcome of their trial in October. The duo, according to NBC Boston, pleaded not guilty during their court appearance.
Authorities are still searching for Corey Buchannan, a 31-year-old from Lowell, who is considered a third suspect in the case. Although two suspects are in custody, the search for Buchannan continues, as noted by a Boston Globe article from yesterday.
The home invasion occurred on July 18, when masked intruders broke into a house on Warren Street, and assaulted a 61-year-old man who was inside the property. The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment of lacerations to his head. Investigators believe a gun was fired during the home invasion, which was reported to the police around 2:30 a.m. that morning.
Following an extensive manhunt, Alicea and Hardin were arrested in their respective towns early Wednesday morning, as reported by the Boston Globe. The police believe the home invaders entered the house from the second-floor balcony, while there were two people in the home at the time.
