An alarming incident occurred on Saturday, September 9th, when a 13-year-old girl was injured in a UTV accident caused by the driver, Jason Cabral, who attempted a doughnut maneuver resulting in the vehicle flipping on its side.
The teenager was a passenger in the utility task vehicle (UTV) while Cabral, 40, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, took a dangerous and reckless turn, flipping the vehicle. She was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, New Hampshire, for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries, according to MassLive.
The incident took place around 7 p.m. on Success Pond Road, where the UTV crashed, causing harm to the young passenger. Though alcohol and drugs were not involved, the girl was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Cabral himself was uninjured, and after an interview with officials and witnesses, he was issued citations for operating an OHRV to endanger life or property and carrying a passenger less than 18 years old who was not wearing a helmet, as reported by Boston Globe.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to the accident, emphasizing the importance of safety measures, particularly for minors involved in such activities.
