A pleasant gathering in Bedford Park, Illinois, transformed into an emergency situation when a tent collapse left several people injured this morning.
According to ABC7 Chicago, the incident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. in the Cintas parking lot, situated at 5600 W. 73rd St. Bedford Park. Police Chief Tom Hansen confirmed that the injuries sustained by the victims were non-life-threatening.
Witnesses could only watch in horror as the tent and its contents gave way in the midst of the event.
Aerial footage from NBC Chicago's Sky 5 helicopter painted a chaotic scene: tables, chairs, and food scattered within the parking lot.
The report also noted that numerous ambulances and first responders rushed to the scene to attend to the injured victims.
As investigations into the cause of the collapse continue.
