
Earlier today September 1, T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, went into lockdown due to a 'potential security threat' that has left travelers and airport personnel in a state of uncertainty and fear according to Boston 25 News.
The situation intensified as the alleged threat manifested to be an active shooter, as mentions in Daily Mail.
With state, local, and airport police units joining forces to investigate and secure the area, the R.I. Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announces that all eastbound travel lanes are to be blocked on the airport connector at Exit 1A, WJAR reports.
As reported by the Warwick Police Chief, Bradford Connor, the ongoing investigation includes a search of the airport's parking lots. The Warwick SWAT Team has been deployed to clear the parking garage, with state police establishing a perimeter around the structure according to Daily Mail.
