These burglaries seem to follow a troubling pattern that has emerged lately, as described by Fox 32 Chicago reporting a similar string of incidents where smash-and-grab burglars hit several smoke shops and a dispensary across different Chicago neighborhoods.
Witnesses and law enforcement detailed the methods of the perpetrators: they wore hoodies while alighting from their white Kia just before shattering the glass of storefronts. It seems the burglars' preferred loot comprises merchandise and cash drawers, whisked away into the night.
Like a contagion, these incidents have spread across various neighborhoods in the city. The Lawndale smoke shop, South Loop dispensary, a retail shop on Roosevelt Road, another in North Milwaukee, and one more in West Foster Avenue have all reported experiencing a similar fate.
