
Yesterday, at approximately 11:21 a.m., a 27-year-old man found himself caught in the crossfire of a shooting at the 4000 block of W. Madison St. that left him injured and frightened.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the unsuspecting victim suddenly heard gunshots ringing through the air and the sound was swiftly followed by a searing pain. Injured, yet determined to survive, the young man mustered the strength to self-transport to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he currently remains, listed in good condition.
The victim's swift actions and resourcefulness allowed him to undertake a harrowing journey, bearing gunshot wounds to both his right ankle and left hand.
No one is in custody at the time, and the investigation is ongoing by Area Four detectives.
