A flurry of armed robberies has taken hold of the city's 014th, 017th, and 025th districts. According to the Chicago Police Department, a series of related armed robberies have occurred, resulting in an official community alert and surge in public concern.
As reported by the police community alert, the perpetrators are four African American males wearing black pants, black shirts, and ski masks. They were seen arriving at the crime scenes in a black sedan, robbing the victims at gunpoint, and then fleeing the area with stolen belongings.
The incidents took place in various locations within the afflicted districts, spanning different times of day and illustrating the indiscriminate nature of these crimes. From the 6300 block of North McCormick Rd. to the 2100 block of North Damen Ave.
While the Chicago Police Department has issued guidelines for residents to follow, including being aware of their surroundings, remaining calm during confrontations, and immediately contacting the authorities, community members continuously seek proactive solutions.
