
A 33-year-old man was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head on the 11300 block of S. Edgebrooke in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood yesterday, September 26, at approximately 9:40 p.m. according to the Chicago Police Department.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by Area Two detectives.
This tragic incident is not an isolated case, but part of a persistent pattern of gun violence plaguing Chicago in recent years.
As of September 22, the city has witnessed 437 shooting victims, per the Chicago Sun-Times Homicide Watch. Among those affected are not only adults but also children, falling victim to stray bullets and gang-related violence.
