In a horrifying turn of events, a 31-year-old woman was struck by a train on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Brown Line on Friday afternoon, leaving her in critical condition and causing temporary disruptions to transit services.
The incident occurred at around 3:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Hudson, near the Sedgwick station on the Near North Side of the city.
The woman was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, suffering life-threatening injuries, as reported by Fox32 Chicago.
Transit services on the Brown Line were halted between Armitage and Clark/Lake, while the Purple Line Express was also suspended at Sedgwick, inevitably leading to significant delays for commuters during the evening rush hour.
