Four individuals found themselves targeted and robbed at gunpoint in the Lakeview, Uptown, and Belmont Cragin neighborhoods within minutes of each other yesterday.
The assailants, a trio of men who emerged from either a black SUV or a black sedan in each case, carried out similar tactics, nabbing not only the victims' cell phones and wallets but also one set of groceries in Uptown, as reported on CBS News.
While no injuries were reported, police are yet to make any arrests, and they have not officially stated if these terrifying incidents are connected.
Nevertheless, the striking resemblance in the nature of the crimes has left room for speculation and worry among Chicagoans, according to ABC7 Chicago. Starting at around 10:30 p.m. on the 700-block of West Roscoe Avenue, a 25-year-old man was robbed of his wallet and cellphone.
This continued through the city with a series of armed robberies occurring at the 900-block of West Lakeside Place, the 1500-block of West Berteau Avenue, and finally, the 2500-block of North Long Avenue.
