Last night, a vigilant community member's actions led to the quick apprehension of three juvenile suspects involved in a shoplifting incident that amounted to over $1,000 in stolen merchandise at a local Safeway store.
According to a Facebook post by the Foster City Police Department (FCPD), officers were alerted to the shoplifting when a community member noticed suspicious activity at the Safeway store. Acting as a "good witness," the individual provided the FCPD with the license plate of the suspect's vehicle, which enabled the police to send out a county-wide alert.
Shortly after the alert, the San Bruno Police Department managed to locate the suspects and the vehicle they were driving in. Without missing a beat, the FCPD officers arrived on the scene, apprehended the three juvenile suspects, and recovered the stolen merchandise.
