
In a harrowing turn of events, a violent shooting took place in West Woodlawn on September 9th, 2023, leaving four individuals critically injured. At around 6:20 p.m., chaos erupted inside a home on the 6500 block of South King Drive, when shots were fired and met their targets, according to Chicago Sun-Times.
Taking place within a Greater Grand Crossing apartment, the shocking incident saw four men falling victim to the gunfire, per an NBC Chicago report. A 23-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, both shot in the back, were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment. A 28-year-old individual and, another, 28-year-old man sustained injuries to the hip and chest, respectively, with all victims listed in critical condition.
In the wake of the horrifying incident, a woman has been taken into custody by the police for questioning. Officers at the scene recovered multiple weapons that may likely be connected to the shooting, including three firearms as described by NBC Chicago article.
