Yesterday, at around 8:18 pm, a 56-year-old pedestrian was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle in the 500 Block of South Independence Blvd, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Witnesses to the event have shed some light on the vehicle involved in the hit and run. They described the suspect vehicle as possibly being a four-door silver sedan, either a Chevrolet or Chrysler, with tinted windows last seen driving westbound on Congress from Independence Blvd.
