The search for 14-year-old Nyara Jade Mitchell from Roslindale, Massachusetts, continues as the Boston Police Department (BPD) issued a missing person alert, seeking the public's help to locate the young girl. According to the BPD announcement, detectives from West Roxbury are leading the ongoing search.
Nyara, a black female described as 5'2", 175 lbs, is further identified by her maroon and black braided hair, brown eyes, a nose piercing, and an unique birthmark on her left hand. Last seen on Wednesday, September 20, she was wearing her Roxbury Prep School uniform: a long-sleeved blue shirt, blue trousers, and black sneakers. While she is considered a frequent runaway, her extended absence has caused deepening concern for those searching.
Although the BPD is reaching out to the public for help in their search, they have noted that Nyara was known to visit the Downtown Crossing, Wensley St., and Wilbert St. areas.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have seen or interacted with Nyara to contact 911 or E-5 Detectives at 617-343-4560. Additionally, those who prefer anonymity can provide information through the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
