Last year's heartrending crash at the Apple Store in Hingham, Massachusetts, left an indelible mark on the local community. As CBS Boston reported, the driver, Bradley Rein, was accused of driving his SUV through the glass windows of the store, resulting in the tragic death of 65-year-old Kevin Bradley and injuring 22 others. While Rein's legal battle continues, his recent failure to charge his GPS monitoring bracelet has led to his bail being revoked.

As Judge Diane Freniere ordered, Rein's bail has been revoked for a 60-day period. This development comes after Hingham Police had to make multiple visits to Rein's residence over a weekend to order him to charge the monitoring device, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office and reported by MassLive.

Rein faces a slew of charges, including second-degree murder, motor vehicle homicide, 18 counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and four counts of assault and battery, among others. In the wake of these charges, Rein had previously pleaded not guilty and had posted $100,000 in bail, CBS Boston noted. In response to the allegations, Rein told police that his foot had gotten stuck on the gas pedal, causing him to crash into the store.

An analysis of the crash revealed troubling findings. Data from Rein's vehicle showed no indication that the brakes were applied within the five seconds before the impact, during which the vehicle accelerated to 60 mph, according to MassLive. No alcohol or drugs were found in Rein's system at the time of the crash, as NBC Boston reported.

Beyond punitive damages, Rein also faces civil lawsuits filed by several victims of the crash. Alongside Rein, Apple, the property's owner, developer, and management are also named in the suits.
