Three sheriff's deputies from northern Illinois suffered burns while disposing of dynamite at a site in Wisconsin.
According to a report by NBC Chicago, the deputies were rushed to the hospital for treatment following the incident, with their injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The deputies, part of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, were called out on Saturday morning to assist the Rock County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin with the discovery of dynamite in a trailer in Beloit.
As noted by the Associated Press, the property where the explosive material was located had been sold at auction and was undergoing an ownership transfer.
As reported by the NBC Chicago, Cori Hilliard, a spokesperson for the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, confirmed that the deputies are receiving treatment for their burns.
