Forty-two-year-old Michael Whitfield, of Brockton, Massachusetts, has found himself in the crosshairs of the law once more, this time charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition as a previously convicted felon.

According to a recent press release from the Department of Justice, Whitfield was arrested earlier today, after law enforcement officers discovered a loaded Glock pistol and 18 rounds of ammunition between his legs upon arriving at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

It was reported that the smell of alcohol emanated from the vehicle, which had sustained significant damage, and an empty tequila bottle was found on the passenger's seat floor.

Michael Whitfield, already bearing the weight of a previous felony conviction from 2006, now faces the possibility of up to a decade in prison, three years of supervised release, and a hefty fine of up to $250,000.

As reported by the Department of Justice, Whitfield's previous felonious actions now prohibit him from possessing firearms or ammunition.
