Yesterday evening according to a Chicago Police Department Community Alert, an unknown driver in a white SUV struck and killed a pedestrian in the 5900 block of South King Drive, before fleeing the scene. 

The victim, a black female aged between 40 and 50 years old, lay lifeless on the ground following the accident. The 5’6” to 5’8” tall, 130-150 lb woman has not yet been identified. At the time of the incident, the driver was traveling southbound, and the pedestrian was in the roadway. After striking the woman, the SUV continued to travel southbound on King Drive without stopping to render any aid, leaving the victim to her fate.

Chicago police have thus far been unable to provide a photograph of the wanted vehicle, and are urging the public to come forward with any information that might lead to the arrest of the perpetrator behind the hit-and-run.
