On August 26, at around 3:36 a.m., a vehicle struck two pedestrians in an alley between 4000 Estrella Avenue and 4000 48th Street in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood of San Diego, as they left a business on University Avenue. The driver of the vehicle callously abandoned the scene without any acknowledgement of the catastrophic harm they caused.

The 39-year-old male victim suffered from severe injuries, instantly transforming his life and leaving him at the mercy of first responders and medical professionals. The second pedestrian, fortunately, did not sustain life-threatening injuries, but the emotional trauma will linger for some time.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division have taken on the critical task of locating the vehicle and apprehending the driver. The investigation is based on eyewitness accounts describing the vehicle as a 4-door gray vehicle with a Sunroof, possibly a 2006 or newer Toyota Corolla. The right front side and lower bumper of the vehicle appeared to have been replaced, as they were a black color. Additionally, there appears to be a decal or damage along the right side of the vehicle, behind the replaced panel.

The driver has been depicted as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, of average build and height. While this vague description places the weight of the investigation on the San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division.

In an effort to expedite the search for the suspect, San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that results in an arrest. For those wishing to help, tips can be provided by contacting SDPD's Traffic Division, Crime Stoppers' anonymous tip line, or even via a web or mobile app.
