The Westfield Police Department requested the public's help in identifying an individual who impersonated a customer of M&T Bank by using a fake ID. The incident took place on last week, friday, at the Westfield Branch located on 10 Elm Street. The suspect managed to withdraw a significant amount of money from the unsuspecting customer's account.
This case is not an isolated incident, as on September 26, 2023, the same suspect attempted a similar scheme at the East Windsor CT Branch of M&T Bank, located at 39 Prospect Hill Road. In both cases, the suspect was last seen getting into a Grey Dodge Caravan-style minivan, with possible Florida license plates, and possibly accompanied by other individuals.
The Westfield Police Department urges anyone with any information on the suspect or the incidents to contact Det. Williams at 413-642-9384 or [email protected] as their efforts intensify in bringing this suspect to justice.
