Yesterday, Mexican Independence Day celebrations were in full swing within the vibrant downtown area of the city.
However, these joyous festivities were marred by violence: two teenagers, a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, were stabbed during an altercation in the River North neighborhood as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
The 15-year-old and 19-year-old victims were both transported to the hospital in good condition after the stabbings.
According to Chicago Sun-Times, the teenagers' injuries, a cut to the 15-year-old's torso and a stab wound in the 19-year-old's back, were inflicted during an argument with a group of men on the sidewalk.
The exact details of the altercation remain unknown, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
