On September 18, Eden Housing proudly celebrated the grand opening of Blue Oak Landing, the organization's first-ever modular affordable housing project. This new development provides 75 high-quality, energy-efficient rental homes to individuals and families experiencing—or at risk of experiencing—homelessness in the City of Vallejo, according to the City of Vallejo's Facebook post.

The grand opening event featured special guests and speakers, including City of Vallejo Mayor Robert H. McConnell and members of the Eden Housing leadership team and residents. The innovative project aims to serve individuals, couples, and families earning an annual income of between $17,000 and $35,000 for a two-person household, as reported on the Eden Housing website.

Blue Oak Landing was built in partnership with James E. Roberts-Obayashi Corp. and local modular manufacturer Factory OS, reflecting a collaborative effort to address the housing crisis. Resident services and case management for this development will be provided by Caminar, with additional support coming from the Solano County Behavioral Health.

This trailblazing project offers a wide array of amenities, including a computer learning center, a community room with a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and an outdoor courtyard equipped with community garden beds and a play area. The design of the Green Point Gold-certified building prioritizes sustainability, featuring rooftop solar panels, all-electrical design, and indoor bike parking, according to the Eden Housing article.

Numerous funding and lending partners contribute to the success of Blue Oak Landing. These include the City of Vallejo, Vallejo Housing Authority, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, California Department of Housing & Community Development No Place Like Home program, Solano County Behavioral Health, Silicon Valley Bank, CREA, CAP Solano JPA, Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, California Municipal Finance Authority, California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, and California Debt Limit Allocation Committee.

Eden Housing, the non-profit organization behind the initiative, has over 55 years of experience in providing safe and affordable housing solutions. Throughout its existence, Eden Housing has developed more than 10,000 affordable homes.
