
On Saturday, September 23, Springfield Police Officers conducted a traffic stop leading them to discover a loaded firearm with defaced serial numbers.
According to an official report by the Springfield Police, 27-year-old Dra'Cee Matos was arrested after officers discovered not only that the license plate on her vehicle had been reported stolen, but also that she did not have a driver's license. The stop occurred at the intersection of Dickinson Street and Sumner Avenue around 5:10 p.m.
As reported by the Springfield Police, officers then found a loaded firearm with obliterated serial numbers inside the vehicle, resulting in Matos's arrest. She now faces multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, receiving stolen property worth less than $1,200, number plate violation to conceal ID, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
