Yesterday, the Loop neighborhood in Chicago was tragically shaken by yet another incident of gun violence.

According to the Chicago Tribune, officers found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the hallway of a residential building located in the first block of East Monroe Street.

Following the shooting, the victim was quickly transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was shortly pronounced dead.

The shooting is believed to have resulted from an altercation between the victim and a 45-year-old man. ABC7 Chicago reported that during the argument, the older man pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.

In light of the violence, a search of the building was initiated, and the alleged shooter was swiftly apprehended by police officers. Charges were pending at the time of reporting.
