A domino game in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood took a sharp turn toward bloody violence as reported by NBC Boston, when a disagreement escalated into a machete attack. The accused, Ron Taylor, 66, of Cambridge, now faces multiple charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of mayhem. On August 25, two men found themselves at the receiving end of Taylor's wrath during a friendly game of dominoes.

According to MassLive, witnesses told the police that the argument centered around "who knows Kingston (Jamaica) the best." Taylor, frustrated by the dispute, reportedly went to the trunk of a Lexus and retrieved a machete. With the weapon in hand, Taylor allegedly slashed one man's face and chased the other around a car.

The chilling scene unfolded with blood visible on the sidewalk, the street, and two cars. As Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden states in a Universal Hub report, "the potential for more severe injuries, or worse, was certainly present here." The police arrived at Westview Street across from Harambee Park on that fateful Friday evening to assess the damage and apprehend the perpetrator.

Shortly after the incident, the look-out alert from the Boston Police resulted in Taylor's arrest by the Cambridge police. The authorities discovered the bloodied machete in a sink at Taylor's apartment. Taylor appeared in the Dorchester branch of Boston Municipal Court on August 28 to face charges and was ordered held on $2,500 bail with stipulations. Taylor now resides under house arrest, confined to his home and leaving for work only during allocated times. As part of the bail conditions, he is also required to wear a GPS tracking device.

The victims themselves are lucky not to have met a grimmer fate. The victim who suffered a facial cut from the machete was conscious and able to speak with the police when they arrived at the scene.
