
As darkness fell on Friday, September 1st, a tragic event unfolded on the streets of Springfield. A single-car crash claimed the life of an adult male pedestrian at the intersection of Worthington and Bowdoin streets, according to MassLive.
At approximately 8pm on Friday September 1, officers responded to Worthington & Bowdoin Streets for a one car crash involving a pedestrian. The adult male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver remained on scene. The SPD Traffic Unit is investigating.

The Springfield Police Department announced the incident on Tuesday, revealing that the adult male succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as confirmed by Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh.
Showing a sense of responsibility in the face of a heartbreaking accident, the driver involved in the crash remained on the scene and is fully cooperating with the authorities.
The Springfield Police Department's Traffic Unit has now taken charge of the investigation.
