In the South Austin neighborhood on September 20, 2023, at 3:39 PM, an unknown assailant emerged from a dark-colored sedan, unleashing a barrage of gunfire .
According to Chicago Police, three men found themselves struck and critically injured in the aftermath.
With the assailant remaining elusive, Area Four Detectives continue their investigation into this senseless act. As CBS News reported, the first of the victims, a 33-year-old man, was shot throughout the body and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he currently fights for his life, listed in critical condition.
The second victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks, while the third, another 33-year-old, received a gunshot wound to his right arm. Both of these men were taken to the Stroger Hospital, where they are listed in good condition.
For now, the manhunt for the assailant in a dark-colored sedan continues.
