
Two separate drug operations conducted by the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) task forces last week resulted in the arrest of two alleged traffickers and the seizure of several kilograms of narcotics. According to a recent MSP report, the joint efforts of local and federal law enforcement agencies culminated in the confiscation of 1,132 grams of fentanyl and four kilograms of cocaine in Lawrence and Andover, respectively.
According to MSP report, the narcotics dealer, Jacobo Medina-Mendoza, 39, of Lawrence, was arrested by Troopers and agents with assistance from the Lawrence Police Street Narcotics Enforcement Unit and MSP’s Troop A Community Action Team. Medina-Mendoza was arraigned at Lawrence District Court. The case is being prosecuted by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
While in other incident task force members and Andover Police Officers arrested the trafficker, Rony Valencia Lopez, 30, of New York. Valencia Loperz is currently being held and is facing federal narcotics charges as stated in MSP report.
