Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) urged drivers to expect delays in the area as they cope with the aftermath of the crash.
Lane closures were imposed following the accident, further contributing to the traffic disruptions. As WCVB reported, the incident occurred early Friday on Route 3 south near Route 18, leading to the closure of two lanes of travel for about three hours. The traffic impact was not limited to the southbound side, as northbound traffic was also affected by the crash.
