A chilling scene unfolded in Glenview, Illinois when a man was found dead in his newly renovated home yesterday., as reported by NBC Chicago.
According to ABC7 Chicago, the deceased had arrived from Iraq a few months earlier and had purchased the home in June. He had been working tirelessly rehabilitating the home in anticipation of his fiancée's arrival. Neighbors, reeling from the tragic news, were nonetheless full of praise for the man and described astonishment at how quickly he had managed to transform the house into a stunning abode.
But his aspirations brutally halted when police were called to the residence, responding to a report of an injured man. Upon arriving at the scene, police found a lifeless body, and an investigation into the cause of his death quickly got underway. Police have declined to explicitly label this case a homicide.
Glenview police have gratefully partnered with the North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. They have urged anyone with information to promptly contact them at 847-901-6055.
