Yesterday, a horrific act of indecent exposure was carried out by paroled sex offender Luther Burden, a 76-year-old transient. As reported by El Cajon City News, Burden was detained after masturbating in front of a 17-year-old girl inside her workplace. This distressing incident occurred in El Cajon, California, and underscores the lingering risks paroled sex offenders may still pose to communities.
According to El Cajon City News, police were contacted at around 1:05 PM on that fateful day by the 17-year-old girl; who was working in the 100 Block of Broadway. She provided a detailed account of the event and, with assistance from other employees who had also witnessed the lewd act, the suspect was identified as Luther Burden, a man who was already on parole for committing other sexually lewd acts.
Following the victim's report, El Cajon Police Officers acted swiftly and apprehended Burden. He has since been charged with committing a lewd act in public, annoying or molesting a child, and violating the terms of his parole.
