The Aurora Police Department descended upon the scene, while the city scrambled to evacuate the buildings and shut down nearby streets in an effort to repel the lurking danger.
As reported by the Aurora Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of S. River St., the 500 block of S. Eola Rd, and the 200 block of S. Constitution Dr after receiving the terrifying call.
Local authorities have since advised the public to steer clear of the affected areas as they continue to work diligently to safely evacuate library visitors and shut down nearby roadways. According to NBC Chicago, River Street remains closed in both directions between Cross Street and Benton Street, while the detour traffic causes heavily congested conditions along Lake Street.
