
Yesterday night, a vehicle collided with an MBTA Green Line train in Brookline, near the intersection of Beacon Street and St. Paul Street, causing the train to derail. Two minor injuries were reported as a consequence of the incident, according to Boston 25 News.

The MBTA trolley, which had the right of way, was heading outbound on Beacon Street when the vehicle traveling in the same direction made a sudden left turn, violating the red light, and struck the trolley, as reported by The Boston Globe. The individuals who sustained injuries suffered from minor neck and back pain and received immediate attention, per WHDH.
After the collision, service on the Green Line was temporarily disrupted, prompting the use of shuttle buses to replace trains in the affected area. In response to the incident, MBTA Transit Police issued a citation for the red light violation committed by the driver at fault, as stated by Boston 25 News. The area was cleared, and trolley service resumed later in the evening, according to WHDH.
