Earlier today, a chilling occurrence transpired in the north suburban area of Niles, Chicago. A 17-year-old boy was fatally struck by a car in the street of the 8200 block of West Ballard Road, according to CBS News.
Police were alerted promptly and arrived on the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m., where they discovered the critically injured young man lying in the street, as reported by ABC 7 Chicago. Desperate attempts were made to save his life, as he was swiftly transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, and he was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. In a the midst of the unfolding tragedy, investigators determined that the 17-year-old was already lying in the road when he was struck by a 2007 Nissan Xterra. The 21-year-old driver has expressed that he was unaware that the somber impact was with a person.
