Earlier today, Dorchester, a neighborhood in Boston, became the scene of unexpected gun violence near Harambee Park. Two individuals were shot, one suffering life-threatening injuries, while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to NBC Boston.
Boston police received an alert at around 5:30 a.m., bringing them to 12 Greendock Street in Dorchester, just a few blocks away from Harambee Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered a person with life-threatening injuries, who was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment, as reported by MassLive. The second individual, who had non-life-threatening injuries, took themselves to a hospital.
Homicide detectives were notified of the incident and responded to the scene. However, no arrests have been made at the time of this report, and no additional information regarding the shooting was immediately made available to the public. Officer Michael Torigian, a Boston Police Department spokesperson, told MassLive that the investigation is ongoing.
