An individual from Boxborough suspected to be linked to a potential assault has been successfully captured. According to a statement from the Massachusetts State Police, the suspect was located in the area of Hillcrest Drive and Stow Road in the neighboring town of Harvard yesterday, September 5th. After having been taken into custody by an MSP Trooper from the State Police-Leominster Barracks, the suspect was turned over to Boxborough Police.
The manhunt for this suspect began earlier on September 5th when state and local police initiated a search in a wooded area near Route 495 in Boxborough. Described as a white male wearing black pants and no shirt, the suspect was believed to be involved in a possible assault. To facilitate the search, a perimeter was established in the vicinity of the wooded area, bordered by Eldridge and Harvard roads.
Various law enforcement agencies collaborated to bring the search to its successful conclusion. Troopers from the State Police-Concord Barracks and surrounding towns, local officers from Boxborough Police Department, state and local police K9 units, and the State Police Air Wing were all involved in the extensive manhunt.
Throughout the ordeal, local residents were advised to be vigilant for any suspicious behavior or individuals appearing out of place. If found, they were urged not to approach the person in question but instead to call 911 without delay. The concerted effort by law enforcement, along with the cooperation and vigilance of local residents, contributed significantly to this successful outcome.
